Evaluation : Question 4

Who would be the audience for our media project?

I have made a film in the horror/thriller genre as this is the kind of film that people from the ages of 15 onwards would enjoy nowadays as they enjoy the suspense and tension in these kinds of films as it builds up there adrenaline. When making a horror movie, you need to look for the incentive of watching them, for example; People watch different genres because they enjoy different content which is in each of them, people would watch a comedy for a laugh, this kind of film is directed to the age-range of anywhere depending on the type of comedy whether it's containing more adult humor like Step Brothers, or more childish humor like Lego Movie, but for horrors, people like a scare or a shock as people enjoy the tension building up to different climaxes of a horror/thriller film. Our secondary audience would be young  couples they, if the female is easily scared or grossed out, her boyfriend would be there to comfort her and make her feel safe, however the film would not be directed to older couples, as they may not be interested in the pace of the movie and may want to watch something more calm or romantic as they may have settled down unlike younger couples who may not of been together for long.

Horror/thriller films are often more intellectually demanding therefor meaning it's aimed from mature teenagers onwards as the common themes consist of gore and more mature themes therefor making it potentially unsuitable for anyone younger. Some common themes of a horror thriller are violence, psychological issues possibly making it too intellectually demanding for a younger audience.

My film would be mainly directed towards males than females as males tend to be interested in violence and adrenaline packed movies and aren't easily grossed out by the gore in these types of films, for example the majority of males would prefer to watch 'The Hills Have Eyes' over 'The Fault In Our Stars' as they would enjoy the intense and

I've researched demographics and other topics including different parts of information of the kind of people that enjoy my type of film.

Here are the a few examples of food that people with interest in our film enjoy, what you eat shows a lot about you, for example a vegetarian wouldn't enjoy a film where perhaps an animal could be killed or pass away. Producers can use this information when making their film.

Knowing some features of viewer personality can be used by the producers to create the film to suit these characteristics.

Knowing the ages of people interested in your genre, whether it's a comedy to know what kind of humour to use, or whether it's a thriller/horror to know what story line the ages
would understand.
